all the kids to the kitchen!
My current rules for eating are:
1. Eat for health
2. Eat to avoid inflammation
I don’t always meet both goals simultaneously, but I am in the 90th percentile. Dairy, excess sugar, and food coloring have shown to be very inflammatory to our family. We do our best to highly processed foods and come up with some creative ways to recreate many dishes.
For this milkshake that tastes just like a McDonalds milkshake (but better!) we used about 2 1/2 cups of each ice cream pictured and almost a full carton of strawberries (cutting the tops off).
Let the ice cream sit out while washing and cutting the strawberries to soften for easier blending.
This was also a fun and quick way to let the kids help in kitchen. Not only did they help me wash, cut and measure the fruit they also learned that sometimes things we want take time.
